The Wichita Art Museum Forum is here to answer any and all of your WAM questions. We are dedicated to making your experience the best it can be. Our representatives are available whenever the museum is open. Give us a call, or submit your questions, and we’ll be here for you.
Q: When is the best time to get to the museum?
A: Schooldays are typically the least busy throughout the year. If you can, going to the museum on Tuesdays or Wednesdays will give you the most private time to explore. On weekends, lunch hours (11-2) tend to empty out the museum, as well.
Q: What programs is the WAM hosting for the holiday season?
A: Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, the WAM will be hosting holiday events. The first two days after Thanksgiving and other days scattered throughout December, the museum will be hosting Winter Mania, consisting of two free museum days with activities included. On December 1st, there will be an interactive showing of the holiday classic, Elf, similar to the style of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. (Please note: this is for guests 21+!) On December 4th, however, bring your kids to the Holiday Open House for cookies, musical performances, and a visit from Santa himself. This event is free. The details of all of these events can be found here.
Q: Should I make reservations for The Muse Cafe?
A: Yes! Although the site states reservations are not required, they are the best way to ensure a table, especially for larger parties. To make a reservation, call (316) 268-4973.
Q: How can I find out when an exhibit is leaving the museum?
A: Unfortunately, even the best things must come to a close. The start and end dates for all Wichita Art Museum exhibits are listed on the website under the “exhibitions” tab. Or, you can call the museum directly and speak to a representative.
Q: Are there any options for me if I can’t make it to the museum during their regular hours?
A: Yes! The Wichita Art Museum Art Garden is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week for free. Here, you can view hundreds of trees and plants, as well as sculptures and breathtaking views.
